Rainbow Bridge
March 2017 - I would like to honor two dogs that I retired a few years ago and that have done amazing things, were loved and have recently crossed the rainbow bridge.
Two weeks ago, I received a message that my beautiful, smart and sweet Snookums had crossed the rainbow bridge. This morning I received a message that my equally sweet and smart Trudy had also crossed the rainbow bridge.
These two dogs were part of my foundation dogs. I bought these dogs 6 months apart. Snookums first, then Trudy. Snookums black and silver and Trudy solid black. They lived with me on a ranch in California where they were my helpers gardening, feeding horses and even making German Shepherd Dogs feel comfortable when they were rescued.
At the age of 6, Snookums was retired to another ranch in Texas. She was their helper for many years, a valuable and much loved member of their family who still mourn for her loss.
At age 6, I also retired Trudy to a young woman in Philadelphia who trained Trudy and had her certified as a Therapy dog at Fox Chase Cancer Center. I retired Trudy's daughter to the same home some years later. Trudy will be missed by many because she brought such joy and peace to so many in the hospital.
I want to thank both of these homes for taking such great care of my family members and for keeping them in their hearts, notifying me when they crossed the rainbow bridge. My heart is heavy but I can see them both playing again as if they were puppies..enjoying each other to be reunited with both "grandmother" (me) and Mom and Dad when our time comes.
